January 4, 2012

Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP is pleased to announce that one of its partners, Virginia Hamilton Snell, has been nominated for “Woman Litigator of the Year” by Benchmark Litigation—South.  The “South” region covers the fourteen states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Only seven women were nominated for this honor, and Ms. Snell is the only nominee from Kentucky.  The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 8 at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to this category, Ms. Snell was nominated for “Litigator of the Year” in Kentucky.  Wyatt was nominated as “Firm of the Year” for Kentucky and one of seven firms in the South region nominated for recognition for its appellate practice.

Benchmark Litigation is the only publication on the market to focus exclusively on litigation in the U.S.  The guide’s results are the culmination of a six-month research period that allows its researchers to conduct extensive interviews with litigators and their clients.  For a number of years, Wyatt has received the publication’s top ranking as a “Highly Recommended Firm.”

One client was quoted in the 2012 edition as praising the Firm’s “market reputation, demonstrable competency, and wide array of legal experience and expertise,” and going on to assert, “We also know the partners and associates in the Firm, and have personal confidence in them as well. We have been well served in ongoing advice, outcomes of mediation and lawsuits, and successful in recoveries and minimizing exposures with their advice.”

Wyatt is a full-service regional law firm with approximately 200 lawyers, and offices in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky; Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee; New Albany, Indiana; and Jackson, Mississippi.  The Firm has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky for six consecutive years.
