Damon McCormick is a member of the Firm's Real Estate and Lending Service Team. Damon provides counsel to clients of all sizes and types, particularly those within the commercial real estate, financial services and liquor licensing and alcoholic beverage industries. Damon concentrates his practice on commercial lending transactions and the sale, acquisition, leasing and development of commercial property. 

  • Representative Matters 
    • Regularly represents lenders and borrowers in various secured and unsecured lending transactions.
    • Regularly represents buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of various types of commercial property, such as retail, shopping centers, office, industrial, apartment, storage facilities and multi-family projects.
    • Regularly represents landlords and tenants in various office, retail, hospital, industrial and other commercial leasing transactions.
    • Regularly provides local counsel opinions and serves as local counsel in connection with a variety of multi-state loan transactions.
    • Represents clients in all phases of the liquor licensing process in cities and counties across Kentucky, including the regular representation of alcoholic beverage producers, malt beverage, wine and spirit wholesalers and retailers, such as bars, restaurants, hotels, catering companies, live entertainment venues, liquor stores, event facilities and charitable organizations.
    • Served as real estate counsel to a public university’s acquisition of one of the region’s largest healthcare operators.
    • Represented a national investment firm in its acquisition and investment in real estate parcels located across the country.
    • Represented a buyer in the multi-million dollar purchase of an 11 floor office building in downtown Louisville.
    • Represented a buyer in the $13,000,000 purchase of a 72 unit assisted living facility.
    • Represented a seller in the $5,000,000 sale of industrial manufacturing facilities.
    • Navigated complex tied-house issues in connection with an investment company’s investment in a Kentucky distiller.
    • Represented a bank in a $29,000,000 term loan transaction with a restaurant operator borrower secured by mortgages on 19 properties in 6 different states.
  • Professional Experience 

    Prior to joining Wyatt, Damon spent several years in private practice at one of Louisville’s largest law firms. During this time, he focused his practice serving as outside counsel for national banking clients in the origination and syndication of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loans on nationwide retail, hotel, multifamily, industrial and mixed-use properties, as well as other general corporate and real estate matters.
