Meghan Cox  is a member of the Firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Labor & Employment and Intellectual Property Protection & Litigation Service Teams. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Illinois and concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial disputes, trademark and copyright transaction, and employment litigation.

  • Representative Matters 
    • Obtained summary judgment or pre-trial settlement of cases involving allegations of breach of contract, violation of consumer protection statutes, negligence and other tortious conduct
    • Obtained affirmance of favorable judgments on appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
    • Defeated class certification in putative federal class action
    • Representing medical device manufacturer in various products liability actions
    • Defending private and municipal clients in cases involving race, gender, age and disability discrimination, retaliation and other employment-related violations
    • Representing companies and governmental entities in administrative proceedings before the EEOC, Tennessee Human Rights Commission and equivalent state agencies
    • Evaluating potential trade and service marks, prosecuting state and federal applications for trade and service marks and enforcing trademark rights against third parties
    • Facilitating trademark and copyright transactions, including negotiation and preparation of confidentiality and non-disclosure, licensing, assignment and work-for-hire agreements
    • Advising college and university athletic departments on NCAA compliance and student athlete eligibility issues
